Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to give everyone a shout of Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 2010 has flashed by. I pray 2011 is a blessed year for everyone. I will be updating my blog on a weekly basis starting the first of the year. I have so much to share. By summer I hope to have a rough draft of my first novel done! Let's just say the scale of this book is HUGE! We are talking Lord of the Rings huge. It's a series of four books and the first one will set the tone for the saga. I'm so excited!

As 2010 passes by, reflect on what the year has meant to you and focus on what you want 2011 to be for you. Whatever it is, I pray God gives you the desires of your heart and more importantly, the desire to draw closer to him. I believe that's everyone's prayer.

Praising is powerful

Praising is an element of worship. We do it to bless the Lord. We do it to honor him and show how much we love him. Did you know it's also a weapon ? You know I never thought it that way until recently. Wednesday was a tough day. A lot things going through my mind. My blood pressure was going up, I couldn't stay still. What in the world is going on? Of course, Satan loves to stir the pot in you're life. Then I remembered a good friend of mine telling me about how praising God gives you peace in the midst of a storm. So I ran through some songs and some verses in my mind. What a blessing. God comes through always. It's so easy to praise him when we are on a "spiritual high" but what about when are going through some battles? It's tough but praising God through the highs and lows of this life blesses him and gives you joy and peace. Psalms 42: 5, Daivd gives us an example of and a little taste of what he went through when he was battling with warfare: " Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise him, my savior and my God." His is our Shepard.

Fall Winds

Well College Football has arrived folks. For those of you that don't know or do, this is my favorite time of the year. The leaves changing, the cooler weather, and of course FOOTBALL! I'm a fall baby too so that helps. My Yellow Jackets are 3-1, not bad considering that must pollsters and experts didn't have them winning more than 3 games. That just goes to show the "experts" don't know jack squat.

Tech Hired Paul Johnson during the off season, a man who's track record is quite impressive. He won 2 national titles at GA southern and brought Navy out of the lower depths to the high seas. Now he's down on the Flats, bringing his Spread option attack. So far, it has wooed the nay sayers. People say that it won't work because the NCAA division 1 teams are too fast. Thats funny, don't they have fast players on offense? By any regard, he brings a toughness to this program that has been lacking, and I have seen it with my own eyes. This is the Tech I grew up watching, that played 4 quarters, that fought tooth and nail for every yard, and that beat that sorry team from Athens on a consistent basis. Football is back on the flats!
